I just finished a room box for my Mother In Law Pat.

She is a wonderful lady and has been so generous with us, and tireless in her love for her family.

The Little House I started a while back after seeing the wonderful 1/144 scale houses that some very talented fellow blogger's made. I could not afford the kit so I made a little version of my own, and found out that 1/144 scale is not my favourite scale to work in.lol

I was inspired to make this room box by the Thorne Room is Chicago. My husband Dave and I have been to Chicago 3 times and I would love to go back. I purchased the book on the rooms when we were there, and I am so glad that I did as it's a wealth of inspiration.

I even made a curtain cornice, and put in a picture of an English country garden.

I made the bread when my nieces were over and we were all playing with clay.

The bottom silhouette is of Jane Austin, Pat Love's her movies as I do. I painted the chairs white and distressed them. And can you guess what the cushion and drapes are made out of???

Paper!!!

This verse is special to Pat and also myself. I printed off a larger version for me and put it up on the wall facing my desk so I can see it and be inspired.
I even put clear plastic in all the frames, fancy.lol
(i just realised that i miss spelled voice as vice) oops.)

I had of course to include some vintage mail, and roses that I made.

The desk I already had, and I think it looks great with the other pieces. I love to mix things up.

This is my before, it's a room box that I purchased at Ikea many many years ago. I already had the windows, and the floor is Popsicle sticks stained. The walls are dry wall paste.

After many requests I finally have a Half Scale (1/24) Miniature Vintage Mail Available.

And Yes I am crazy!!!!!

Wow I keep forgetting how small this scale is, not as small as others but small enough to make me remember why I need glasses.LOL

Im putting up a listing for this in my Etsy Store, it works the same as my other mail in that you place your order and it's made in that week and then shipped out.

This set is made the same way as the 1/12 scale version. All the pieces have been sealed and then stained.

All are 3 dimentional and have proper backs. The folded letters are made differnet than a reg envelope as in they are one piece of folded paper.

A Present for my little friend Katie Rayond

These little cakes I made the other day when my niece was over. We used the book (making doll's house miniatures with polymer clay) by Sue Heaser

It was such fun and it's amazing how fast hours go by. My niece had a great time she just turned 10 here name is Emma and she is a little artist in the making!!!

We have some friends from Chapel that have a daughter, her name is Katie. I had given her a dollhouse a few years back and thought she might like these for you house. Hope she does.

My very first Chocolate cake, such fun!!! I took my pictures to make it look like a Paris shop.

2nd Cake I made. This was fun too, but I now have way more respect for those able to roll fruit canes and make them look realistic. Lol

I love when something inspiring pops into my head, though it usually happens at night and wakes me up.lol

Felt like I needed a little boost of shabby chic to lift my spirits while i wait for spring!!!

One of my favourites is a all white combination of items!!

I wanted to take some pictures so you could not tell if this was 1/12 scale or life size! I made these little nests the other day,so sweet!!!
My very inexpensive plates look pretty good on here!! LOL

Quill and Ink Display

New Quill and Ink Display in my Apothecary Series.

I love the pedestal displays!!! They fit small spaces, and show off the items so wonderfully.

This Ministry letter is actually a letter i made sent to Scrivenshafts Quill and Inks.

The little Ink bottles are so pretty with there little S logos on them. Tweezers come in handy or putting these on. lol

Old stacked Envelopes and letters fill the table.

The little Quills and Ink wells are make of real crystal Beads, my favourite.

Stacks of wrapped quills and some ink wells. Extra stock is always handy to have around and pre-wrapped even better for that quick sale.

Pour Dumbleldore always in the news. lol

New Love Potion Apothecary Display!!

Love Potion Apothecary Display!!

I love these single displays, and how the furniture becomes so much of the display.
Each Love potion is made from crystal beads and is separately labeled. The crystal beads reflect light and add that special touch to the display.

Love Potions 10 Gallons Each.

All the love potions in the glass bottle are removable. This is the only bottle i have been able to find like this.

Stacks of wrapped Love Potion Packages await there new Owners.

New Letters

And yes I just could not hold myself back I put a very light stain on them.

What the stain does is make them much thinner looking and make them look slightly more worn. Like they have been in Harry's trunk with his old socks. They don't smell like old socks though. lol

I made a bundle of tied letters from Hermione, and tied them with red thread.

If you would like a set without stain, just let me know and i will make one for you.

Bits and Kits Shabby Chic Bed 1/24 Scale

This is a Bits and Kits bed that I made for my fairfield dollhouse.

I just had to share it, as I finished covering the bed last night. I was inspired by another member at the greenleaf forum to do some work on my fairfield.

I absolutely love this bed, it is just the right scale for 1/24 and looks amazing in my house.
I did the bedding late last night and shhhh don't tell anyone, I used hot glue. lol
I don't normally do things so fast but I just wanted to finish one thing in the house!!! lol
The bed has been painted with white acrylic paint and then distressed with sandpaper.

Shot in my fairfield room. The side table is a Besqaq piece that I painted white and then distressed and sealed. I also made the little tassel last night with pink thread.

I'm really liking how the room is coming together. I still need lots of items, rug, pictures, some drawers along side the fireplace. But I'm happy with the look so far.

This is the cutest tray also from Bits and Kits, I painted it white and then put some wallpaper inside it.

The clock is from Miss Lynda Picket. I painted this white also and distressed it, i decided not to add the decoration that usually comes with the kit though.

Acceptence Letter

Harry's Acceptance letter from Hogwarts. I have created this one to be as true to the original as possible.
The envelope back is shaped like the one from the movie and still contains it's seal. I'm still looking though for a Hogwarts Seal in 1/12 scale, let me know if you find one!! LOL

Hogwarts Acceptance Letter comes with the Envelope ,1st letter letting harry know that he has been accepted and the 2nd letter with the school requirements. All as true to the books and movies as I could make them.

My latest piece in the Harry Potter Line of Shop displays.

Apothecary's often have many different types of cabinets to hold different Ingredients.
Shown with the ingredients out. Interior section divided up into 3 sections to keep all items safe and organized.

Working Drawer, all the contents are ingredients from the HP line. I have custom made the labels. Items are glued in place.

18 separate ingredients are removable with labels on the tops and sides. They have all been separately antiqued.

Scrivenshaft's Quills and Inks

This is my latest Creation!!

The Display started out from my 2nd Place Harry Potter Diagon Alley. It was used in Scrivenshaft's Quills and Inks.

I have added so many things to it I have lost count!!

The Cabinet was aged more and then antiqued. All the bottles had there labels antiqued and then I started adding items. The parchment rolls were already to go as with the stacks of cut parchment tied with string. Quills and all the bottles were then put into place and I went about adding so many letters and envelopes that like I said at the start of this post I lost count.

Stacks of Distressed Letters and Newspapers Litter the Floor. I like having props like these with my display as they add more depth and are fun to move around to suit your display.

Top of the cabinet, I made some new labels for Scrivenshafts which are on the parcels. Really how does one ever find anything in this shop?
My new Quill boxes with my custom labels, Phoenix Feather Quills are the stores speciality. Stacks of letter and extra feathers are stored on top of the display.

Artist Feature!! Brambly Hedge Cottage

This Cottage is made by a fellow member on the GreenLeaf Community Board Karin.

She is a very talented Artist and I could not resist featuring her work on my blog.

Her Brambly Cottage reminds me of my childhood love of children's books with real pictures of miniatures in them.

I think this is the Cutest Dollhouse I have ever seen.

A Brambly Hedge inspired cottage. The Brambly Hedge is a series of books written~illustrated by Jill Barklem...I fell in love with the illustrations and had to build a cottage:) This cottage belongs to Mrs. Crustybread. Im not finished with the base and flowers,and I still want to make more food and dishes. So,this album shows ...so far...

Yesterday I did the key on the nail, and put the shelves up, painted the door knob.

I love these shelves, just got them stained and put in place. At first I thought they were too expensive for something I could really probably make myself, ($10 for three shelves), but I was really happy I did, they are nice and roomy and good quality. Cant wait to fill them with China plates and pink pitchers and tea cups!

This is one of the flour sacks I made yesterday,they are filled with cloves and pumpkin spice which makes the whole little house scented...love that! Buttercups doll furniture. I found this little 'rug' in my stash, my Grandma had made, it had a little cup on the top,which I carefully removed with a seam ripper and I'll use the cup part for a basket, I have about 7 of these little "rugs":) Thanks Grandma! Know she is smiling from Heaven:)

Please meet Buttercup, Buttercup is Mrs. Crustybread's little daughter. Shes enjoying her afternoon cup of hot cocoa but cant seem to keep her whiskers out of the whipped cream!

I haven't decided on front door hardware yet,don't know if I want a Tudor look or just a simple door knob,so until we decide...we use a secret knock to gain entrance:)

1/24 Scale Shabby Chic

I took a few pictures in my Fairfield Dollhouse today.

I set up the living room as a shop scene. I have the 1/24 scale dollhouse shop from greenleaf that im working on that will become a shabby chic shop, or a savon store. Not sure yet.

The console table I made from a wood scraps, legs, and cardboard. I think it turned out very cute. The clock is a RB kit, and is one of my favourite things in this house. It's super nice and I have decided for now just to leave it white. The Tray is from Bit's and Kits. I have a few of there items and there kits are great to put together.
Some of my 1/24 Scale soaps. This is a collection of multi coloured ones.

Some more 1/24 scale soaps in bottles and out. Oh how I love soaps.

As you can see in the photo I have done some of the envelopes with a scalped edge. I think it looks really pretty.

I have mixed different items in this collections so you have lots of options for display purposes.

The Victorians really new how to decorate paper items! Everything is so pretty from that Era!

A collection of Vintage Victorian Envelopes.

Victorian Envelopes, I have only distressed a few in this collection and the others left the colour that they already are. Which looks distressed. Some of them are closed and some are new (Old) envelopes that were never used. Envelopes have different cuts on the back of them.

Victorian Letter, Love the blue!!

These Card were sweet to make, one is a valentine, one is a Christmas card and the other is a double sided tea cup card.

Not only is there letters in the collection but also very pretty cards that go in the envelopes as well.

Allot of these are double sided advertisements. Even the ad's are done with such care and art.

This collection has been printed out in the highest possible quality and sealed with a spray sealer for paper. Some items have been distressed with stain and others already have a faded look.

I will be listing this collection in the next day or so.

Fairfield Dollhouse Re-Hab

Yes OK, I know I have too many dollhouse's. LOL
This is my fairfield, it was given to me by a member at the GreenLeaf Dollhouse Forum.
When I first got the house it was if I remember correctly purple on the outside with shinny green shingles?
As soon as I saw it, I thought of an old farmhouse. Here are some on the pictures of my progress over the years, yes years. lol
I decided to take it out of the closet again, and let it have some light I'm going to make a place for it in my craft room so I can see it.

I forgot to included this picture blow. I don't have a before picture, it is normally the dining room. but now serves as the kitchen.

The outside of the house already had siding on it, but it was bumpy in allot of places. So I decided to trim up the house allot to cover it. I wanted to keep this as inexpensive as possible so I used skinny sticks from the craft store. Wow they are great.

It's also painted white, and then blue and then green and then white again. Yes once again, I had trouble making up my mind. lol

I'm trimming the porch with sticks also and the balcony. I think that the door on the second level was already cut out. I have a door for it, just not installed yet. The Turret top windows were round and I did not like them so I made them larger and made the windows once again from skinny sticks.

It's a little bright out this morning for this picture of the front door. I have aged the door with sanding and I'm in the process of trimming out the top.

This is a kit I bought on line, I used the extra paper from my kits to trim it out.

Front knobs are nails that I have put enamel paint on.

Living room. I did not have a before and after pic that I could find. I stained all the floors dark, they look great I think. The house was already put together so I did not want to have to put in flooring.

In the living room I have trimmed out the fireplace with shelving and again used skinny sticks. I'm still working on it. Now that I finally bought some furniture for this room I might have to re-think the colour?

Window Bench, I need to make a new cover now to match the lavender cushions of the furniture.

This is a Bespaq set that I bought of Ebay. I have looked at this furniture for sometime but could never find some that I could afford. This set came with the couch , 2 chairs, side table, coffee table and side table, and little ottoman. It was a great price!! So I treated myself!! I'm thinking of pained the wood white? What do you think?

I love the style of these chairs and did not feel that they would look out of place in the house. They are so wonderful and such detail in them.

Before picture of the right bedroom. Though the floors do have one coat of stain on them at this point.

After Right Bedroom. I decided in all the rooms that I would pull out the old wallpaper and use Spackle to cover any imperfections and also the ceiling, which was in really bad shape. I love the soft look that Spackle gives. I have done a test colour on this fireplace. I think I need to white was the fireplace a bit. The wardrobe is a Robin Betterley kit.

Before shot of the left upstairs bedroom. Again I have put one coat of stain on the floor at this point.

After Shots of Left Upstairs bedroom. I got the bed as a kit its I believe a Phoenix Model Kit. You only get the foot board and headboard. I have painted it white. The ottoman is one of the pieces that match the living room set. The little side table also came with the same set. Again thinking about painting them white and then putting a patina on them.

After Picture of upstairs attic room. I wanted to do a close up of the little light switches I made.

I made this false wall for the upstairs attic room and distressed the door.

After picture of the upstairs attic room. This is going to be the room for the owner of the house. I'm treating the house as a bed and breakfast.

After picture of the attic looking through the house. This will be the sitting room for the owners. There private area. The couch you see against the wall is a kit I have not finished.

Before picture of second floor hallway and bathroom. As you can see the stair whole needed allot of work to clean it up, which I show in following pictures. The wall that divided the bathroom is also not in this shot.

After picture of upstairs hallway. You can see in this picture that I have cleaned up the hole and trimmed it out. I had to use wood filler and stain it in certain spots but I think it looks OK.

I love this shot, it makes me look forward to when its decorated and done. The third floor staircase has yet to be painted and stained.

After picture of ground floor entry. Again all the walls are Spackle. Another kit from RB on the wall. The stairs I decided to turn around from there normal way. If I'm going to put that much work into them, I want to see the!!!

This takes me hours to do, though it is time spent doing something that I love to do.

Each one has been sealed with a spray sealer and then stained.

Each lot is going to be slightly different, as I vary which ones are closed and open

with the letters.

Vintage Letters

This is a collection of reproduction vintage letters and postcards done in 1/12 scale.

I love working on these though it is time consuming, I feel somehow connected with the past and this beautiful Ara of letter writing.

Allot of the letters you can actually open, with a vintage letter inside.
Some letters are sealed and would look great tied up in a bundle or in the nooks and crannies of your dollhouse or display. These letters are not flat but real envelopes with material inside to give real depth to the item.

Some letters have been opened by the side.

This collection is available for order from my etsy shop. I can also do customized work.
